FAQ

What vaccinations are required?

All cats must be fully vaccinated against cat flu and feline enteritis. We must see an up to date certificate which has been filled in and signed from your vets.

If your cat is just starting their vaccines, this is completed in two stages.
First vaccine, a 3-4 week wait then the second vaccine.
We require the course to be completed 14 days prior to the stay.

You must remember to bring your vaccination card to every stay! (Treat it like your cats passport)

What if I forgot to take my vaccination card to the vets or I've lost it?

If your cat is fully up to date you can ask your vets for a print out of their record or you can ask them to email it to us at beechwoodcatterybookings@gmail.com prior to your stay.

My cat is a house cat, do i need to use flea and wormer?
Yes please! We require all cats to be treated for fleas and worms 3 days before boarding if not on monthly treatment.
Please make a note of what product you have used, if we notice fleas on your cat we may have to apply flea treatment and a charge will be added for this.

What age can my cat board from?

As long as your cat is vaccinated we can board them! We have anything from kittens right up to the oldies!

My cats never been in a cattery before - will they be okay?
We pride ourselves on being a quite and calm cattery. Radios are left on all day for background noise and are turned of at nighttime checks (Apart from bonfire night and NYE - we leave them on all night). We never push the cats to come out of their comfort zone, its all in their own time.

What do you provide?

We provide everything they need for their stay. This includes:
Bed & Blankets
Cat tray and litter
Food and water bowls
Scratch post
Toys

All main brand food (Sheba, felix, whiskas, purina wet food and iams dry)

Can I bring my own bedding and toys?

Yes of course, please bring a favorite blanket and toys.
Please note items are left at the owner's risk.

Do you administer medication?

Yes we do. We ask that medication is brought in the vet packaging and that any tablets not whole are prepared prior to boarding.
We do offer insulin injections at a surcharge of £2 per day, we can only administer this if the cat is happy to be injected and not violent.

You must bring enough medication for the stay

Can I come and have a look around?

Yes please do! We are open for you to look around any morning (Including weekends) between 10-12. No appointments necessary.

What's your opening hours?

We are open
Monday - Saturday 10-12 and 4-5
Sundays and bank holidays 10-12 only.

Under no circumstance do we allow drop of and collections out of these hours.

Do the cats go outside or interact with other cats?

No, once your cat is safely in one of our pens they remain there for the duration of our stay.  Cats (unless boarding as a family) do not interact with other cats whilst boarding.

What is the minimum and maximum stay?

Our minimum stay is 3 days. We’ve put this in place to allow the cats to decompress from traveling and being in their carrier.

We have no maximum stay! Some cats board with us for months - if this is the case we change out enrichment items frequently to keep them entertained.

What's your costs and charges?

We charge per day (including arrival and departure days)
1 Cat - £12 per day

2 Cats sharing - £17 per day
3 Cats sharing - £21 per day

When booking a deposit will be taken to secure the pen on the booking system. This is no extra cost, it's taken off your final amount due at the end of boarding.
